Ethiopia Tourist Visa

• A valid signed passport, with at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry into Ethiopia
• 1 visa application form, fully completed and signed – Click Here. All application forms must be typed in.
• 1 passport-type color photograph required, 2×2 on a white background, less than 6 months old, no glasses to be worn in the photo
• A color copy of the Green Card (front and back) or a valid visa back to the U.S. if the applicant is not a U.S. citizen
• Onward/return ticket or confirmed flight itinerary along with hotel reservation is required

Please Note: On arrival tourist visa, up to three months, can be issued at Bole International Airport for nationals and residents of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Democratic people’s Republic of Korea (northern Korea), Poland, Portugal, Republic of Korea (south Korea), the Russian Federation, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States of America.

NOTE: Eritreans nationals shall not be issued a visa on Arrival. They must obtain an entry visa prior to their departure to Ethiopia.

Ethiopia Business Visa

• Please attach a business letter addressed to the Ethiopian consulate from his/her organization explaining the purpose of his/her travels and that the U.S. company guarantees financial expenses for the duration of their stay in Ethiopia.
• A letter of invitation (on company letterhead) from host company in Ethiopia is required.  Please make sure that you have approval from Main Department for Immigration & Nationality Affairs Office in Ethiopia before you submit your request for visa from the Consulate General.
• Onward/return ticket or confirmed flight itinerary along with hotel reservation is required

E-Visa

• US passport holders and citizens of certain countries are eligible to apply for the e-visa.  The process will be done completely online.
• e-Visa fee once submitted is non-refundable as the fee is for processing of the application, and is not dependent on Grant or Rejection of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).
• The applicant may apply for the e-visa and obtain it remotely. Click here to start the application.
• ETS charges a fee of $99.00 to complete the application.
